I thought it time to start an official 'Teaser Thread'. A fair bit has been put out to there already, but we will release more info sporadically.
There is still a lot to do. We are fully done on the OB, the scenarios are a fair way along and a lot of testing has been done to date.
We are also progressing the documentation and I'm including some 'partial' examples of pages from that and other snippets below.
Don't expect new info every day as we still have a truckload of work to do still, but consider this the go to place for info and discussion.
The newest wargame series by John Tiller Software "Panzer Battles" will soon get extended with a second title.
With its 250 meter hexes and platoon size units the "Panzer Battles" games fit in scale between the notorious "Squad Battles" and "Panzer Campaigns" series. In my opinion thats the sweet spot !
I never played the first title in the series "Battles of Kursk - Southern Flank" but as far as i can tell it suffered from a half-baked rule-set and underwhelming tank combat.
The massive slugfest Kursk also was not everybody's cup of tea.
"Panzer Battles 2" will be a 1944 western front game, most likely Normandy. The rule-set has been refined, the artwork improved (that was long overdue) and the map is said to be almost four times as big as in the first game (681 x 576 hexes, total 392,256).
I'm really looking forward to this game, what about you ?
